Rudolph Valentino, the legendary heart-throb and star of the silver screen was a sensation due to his good looks and seductive on-screen chemistry in the 1920s. He became an overnight sensation in the silent movie The Sheik in 1921 and was adored by women the world over.
He died tragically young aged just 31. His death caused such a public outpouring of grief that women committed suicide and there was a riot on the day of his funeral in New York.
